WordPress hacks can occur due to compromised server credentials, insecure hosting, vulnerable plugins, weak passwords or an out of date version of WordPress.

Due to WordPress’s popularity, this happens to unsecured WordPress sites far too often. With many years of WordPress experience, we have developed and refined a strong and proactive security process to counter these threats. Sometimes hacks can be hard to spot, your first clue may be Google showing a ‘this site may be hacked’ message or you may notice links or content in your website that weren’t there previously.

This type of activity on your site will negatively affect your placement in Google as well as create a poor experience for your visitors. This can have a negative effect to your online brand.

Can my website be ‘unhacked’? Absolutely! Here’s what we do:

Assess the damage. We will evaluate the damage and propose a plan of attack.

Fix the problem. Depending on the complexity of the hacking the fix can involve a few different approaches. In extreme cases, this could include ongoing support over several weeks until everybody is confident the hack has been removed. We can also help resubmit the site to Google to recover it’s ranking in search results.

Future Proof. Now that the site is clean, we will implement several security features including a backup system.

Throughout this process, we will communicate clearly to you what is happening and what the next steps will be.

If you suspect your WordPress site has been the target of hacking, drop us an email or give us a call, we’d love to have a chat and talk about how we can help.
